This moment was the culmination of the magic bus tour. Dig:

We were broken down near Roslyn, Washington, a couple days after playing Dead lot #17 at The Gorge Amphitheater near George, Washington. While we were figuring out what to do, a few of us walked around the tiny Cascade mountain town until we found a nearby pond where to share a peace pipe. It was nearing the end of tour, tensions were running a bit high, and on top of it I was having long-distance friction with my at-the-time-beloved Lady Feather. So when the other boys departed at this particular moment, I took the opportunity of peace and solitude in nature to sing from my heart and soul across the pond as frogs croaked and crickets chirped.

WORDS & MUSIC: Directly from the source. I think I was vaguely singing like Amy Winehouse, or at least in my own mind, with an unconscious "Born Under a Bad Sign" pickup, but that was it. After an hour of gospel pray-singing across a placid pond, this entire song poured out of me as though it had been laying there dormant for a long, long time.
