about

Dear ol' Molly Taylor, helping me write another death letter blues....

The riff started as a banjo lick, and I wrote a thing around it called "As I Walk Down South" that was received very well by a catholic monk in the Pays d'Oc of France. But I was ni satisfied ni convinced, so I stripped the arrangement back down to the original banjo lick and built a new "Chain of Fools" structure to it, middle break and all. Molly helped keep me on track to say, simply: death don't have no mercy, but let's forget our pasts and be here now while we can. On this day, I ended with a paraphrase of young Aaron Neville.

lyrics

ALL OUR YESTERDAYS

When all our yesterdays are buried in the ground
When can be here today, but tomorrow lay me down

I was born, born of love and death
Now I see the door with each and every breath, hear what I said?

When all our yesterdays are buried in the ground
When can be here today, but tomorrow lay me down

As I rest my head on this hollow bed
Waiting for the sun for to rise again

Mama, mama, mama, when my time has come,
I know you’ll be awaiting in the setting sun,
That’s where we all come from

When all our yesterdays are buried in the ground
When can be here today, but tomorrow lay me down

When all our yesterdays are buried in the ground
When can be here today, but tomorrow lay me down
When all our yesterdays are buried in the ground
When can be here today, but tomorrow lay me down
Tomorrow lay me down
Tomorrow lay me down
Tomorrow lay me down
Tomorrow lay me down.
