By way of the Shower Principle, it arrived as I was drying myself at the Convent, frog shower in Bathroom B. The chorus was all I had, but for months it was stuck in my head. I saw the structure like architecture, and took it to Nick Fishman down in Houston about seven weeks before these Concerts. We laid down a demo, and I returned with the tapes to my brother's place near Montgomery, where I carelessly built the verses around the idea of an ex-girlfriend who had a bad temper and a bad coke habit (all true to life, unfortunately), finalizing the lyrics about two or three before we performed it together. In the end, it really is just "a little shake, rattle & roll", simple as that.
